The Office of Student and Support Services oversees safety and security for the school system, including weather related school closings, the maintenance and custodial function for all Hanover County schools and the School Board Office, the annual review of the ten year Capital Improvement Plan, planning for the construction of new facilities and additions/renovations to existing facilities, facility study improvements and plans for placement of modular classrooms, the naming process for new facilities, student and employee health services, including issues related to children’s health care and assessment, school health regulations, medication administration, OSHA, CPR/First Aid, universal precautions, safety awareness, immunizations, health screenings, health records management, and Medicaid, as well as the transportation function which operates more than 250 school buses and 100 support vehicles for over 16,000 students each school day. |
