Rising Sixth Graders Must Have Tdap Booster |

Important Message for Parents of Rising Sixth Grade Students: All students entering sixth grade after July 1, 2006, are required by law to have tetanus, diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) booster dose of vaccine if at least five years have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine was administered. This vaccination may be listed as T, Td, Dtap, and/or Tdap. Please review your child’s shot record. If it has been more than five years since the last tetanus containing vaccine your child will need to have this booster shot administered before the first day of school in September. Documentation that this booster or a tetanus shot has been administered within the last five years must be taken to your child’s school nurse or school office personnel. The school must have proof of this vaccination by the start of the 2008-09 school year in order for your child to attend classes on the first day of school.
